About Brooke's Blossoms

Brooke Hester was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma cancer in 2010 at three years old. Neuroblastoma is the most common extracranial solid cancer in childhood. Brooke lives in Texas but often travels to Grand Rapids, Michigan to receive treatment under the care of Giselle Sholler, M.D. When in the hospital, Brooke noticed other kids in the hospital that were sad and wanted to help cheer them up. Brooke and her mother, Jessica, decided to make headbands for other kids going through chemotherapy to help them cope with their hair loss. Brooke’s Blossoms was born.

Their sole mission is to encourage and empower others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer by raising public awareness of childhood cancer through education initiatives; and to raise money primarily for early detection research, newer treatments and cutting edge, targeted therapies and cures for pediatric cancer that will be gentler and more tolerable through all stages: discovery, diagnosis, treatment, and remission.
